SUMMARY

The Project Management and Budgeting course is “hands-on” learning event that covers key topics in business management. The course will cover two main elements with regards to business projects for business entities operating in industrial and manufacturing contexts. First, it will tackle issues related to project management, which includes project needs assessment, planning, documentation and management. Second part will cover issues related to project budgeting such as types of budget, estimation, costing, controlling, budget constraints management approaches and uncertainty management.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the course, trainees will be expected to:
• Understand the knowledge on project management process and budgeting techniques.
• Understand the key project management tools that they can use on daily basis to carry out work operations.
• Able to deal with project planning elements which incorporate project needs assessment, risk management plan, budgeting and communication plan.

TOPICS COVERED

The course is divided in two Parts. Each part covers specific issues to ensure and facilitate effcient implementation of the course. Each part covers specific topics in order to ensure smooth and eficient implementation of the course. Part A: Project Management
• Define projects, project budget, project management, and project managers
• Identify the ve process groups and nine knowledge areas.
• Describe the triple constraint
• Perform a project needs assessment and write goals, requirements, and deliverables
• Create key project documents.
• Build and prepare a project schedule by estimating budget, time, costs, and resources
• Use the work breakdown structure
• Create project planning documents, such as a schedule, risk management plan, and communication plan
• Establish and use baselines
• Monitor and maintain the project
• Perform basic management tasks, including leading status meetings and ensuring all documents are complete at the end of the project Part B: Budgeting

ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION

Upon completion, learners will receive a certicate of participation from Resources Training Center
